Installed version 1.23 on my Droid. Set my username and password.
When I try to connect from my PC command line using:
ftp <ip address stated on phone>
It doesn't find a server.
I also noted that the WiFi address specified on the phone is not the
address of my WiFi access point. Why would this be?
I double checked that I'm only connected to my home WiFi, not some
stray signal.

I also tried connecting to the proxy address but that didn't connect
either.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Tony,

Is your phone on the same subnet as your PC? If your Wifi AP is doing NAT or firewalling, it won't work.

With regard to the proxy not working: are you including the prefix in your username? Take a close look at the URL. If your username doesn't look like prefix_username, you're doing it wrong.

Cheers,
Dave

hi tony,
the default port for ftp is 21.
swiftp is using 2121, could that be the problem?

regards
reinhard

Yes, you have to use the port that is configured on the setup screen, which is 2121 by default.

Of course, this applies only to local connections and not to proxy connections. Proxy connections use port 21.
