La Conner Race 2/6/21

Race Description:
Sound Rowers is excited to offer a schedule of live on-the-water races in the 2021 season. We will be navigating some uncharted waters as we institute new policies to ensure the safety of all participants and volunteers.
The La Conner Race is is a 7 mile course from the historic town of La Conner through the scenic Swinomish Channel, into Skagit Bay and back.
The race is open to all human-powered watercraft but certain limitations will be enforced (kayaks minimum 13’, SUP minimum 12’6”). Participants must be capable of self rescue in rough water and carry a personal flotation device and whistle onboard.
All registration must be done online prior to 8:00 AM the day before the race (2/5/21). Race packets will be distributed on the morning of the race in a no-contact manner. You will be assigned a start time listed in your race packet, along with a timing chip and other important race information.
Top three racers in each category, as well as top overall Male and Female boats will be recognized with awards at an online post-race event at 5:00 on the day of the race.

COVID Regulations:
All participants must wear masks while on shore at the event site. This means everyone, at all times.
Stay socially distanced as you enter the water.
Starts will staged in waves with 2 minute spacing.
Team boats may only have members from the same household.
Unfortunately there can be no post-race socializing and meal this year. We will have an online awards party following the race to recognize performances and share stories.
Do not attend if you feel sick or have a temperature.
