as a way to track all the repositories, tools and resources that are related to the SWHID standard.
This looks like a great idea and aligns well with how open ecosystems grow and engage their communities, and we're all for encouraging contributions, discoverability, and learning around SWHIDs.
So I propose to proceed with the creation, unless someone sees strong reasons not to do so: please chime in by the end of next week!Hello Roberto, all
Congrats on the ISO/IEC approval.
My community (of energy system modelers committed to open science) have just been debating a very similar topic: how best to list the modeling frameworks that fall under our paradigm and domain. Here are two observations:
despite the wishes of some to have a central repository, that is just not going to happen — indeed we (systems modelers) live in a multi‑polar word
the design and placement of the listings are key: some are highly‑structured, some descriptive, some more visual, some cater to sub‑communities, and so on
Here are some examples:
To which I could add Wikidata — which is quite capable of recording that kind of information in a very well maintained space too.
None of these listings services run on GitHub, I note.
By the way, I would much prefer the SWHID standard to be licensed MIT OR CC0‑1.0, rather than Community‑Spec‑1.0.
with best wishes, Robbie
