Get out of your condo on the third Tuesday of October and go for a
walk with South Waterfront Community Relations. After meeting at the
Community Relations Office (address below), we will set out north
along Moody Avenue to Tom McCall Waterfront Park, where we will walk
the Hawthorne Bridge to Steel Bridge Loop.

Please wear sturdy walking shoes, dress in layers, and bring drinking
water. This walk is approximately 5.3 miles and is mostly flat, but
does include some stairs at the Hawthorn Bridge. This is a dog-
friendly walk; please be prepared to keep your friend in check
especially as we cross the busy Hawthorn Bridge and remember to bring
doggie bags.

Tuesday, October 18, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Meet at Community Relations Townhome
Atwater Place, Suite 115
0841 SW Gaines Street, Portland, OR

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

See you there!

You must be a young group!
Do you have an elderly group of walkers also? I'm 67 and have 2nd hand smokers disease (COPD) from my parents. There is NO WAY on early that I could do that hike!

I would be interested in shorter, slower walks (say, a mile and a half, maybe build up to 2?)
I've been watching the announcements for a walk I can do, but they have all been too long.
I live with a serious medical condition -- and have difficulty with stamina, but would like to walk with others who are at my pace...we could start a slower, shorter walking group within this one...
any others interested?

This is a fantastic idea, and exactly what this group is for: getting
connected with people in your neighborhood who have similar walking
goals and getting out there on those walks!

Our planned walks have been longer and more strenuous, but we love
this feedback and will plan to incorporate some shorter walks as
well. In the meantime, if there is anyone else in this group
interested in going for shorter walks, please write back and let's get
a discussion going about where and when you would like to walk - we
may be able to get some informal walks going before the next planned
one!

Heather,
I am most interested in the longer weekend walks. I don't live at the waterfront, but in SW PDX but still would like to do some with the group as it works with my schedule.
Thank you!
