Ello all,

I have had a little time to enact my grand scheme I mentioned in the last email, which is to build a simple game as an example then spin off a couple of topics for discussion. The game I decided to do was a really simple game called BloonBlaster. The idea was that you have balloons floating about and you click them to pop them and you get more points.

I wanted to get a little furthur with this example before I emailed about it but as im off to the states from Tuesday I don't think im going to get time. Its okay however as theres plenty of things that have cropped up already. Ill put a coupple of them in follow-up posts.

The graphics have been borrowed from the Lost Garden Game Prototype Graphics Pack (http://www.lostgarden.com/2009/03/dancs-miraculously-flexible-game.html) just to make it look not so programmer art-ish :P

As I say, at the moment its far from complete or anything anyone would want to play but instead serves as a method for investigating those crucial first architectural choices when making a game, which Swft should hopefully make easier for people :)

I have had to make some changes to the Swft core. I have uploaded these to Git. I have also updated the Shooter game to reflect these changes too.

BloonBlaster can be found in the SwftExamples project on Git here --> http://github.com/mikecann/Swift-Examples/tree/master/BloonBlaster/

I have uploaded the SWF for playing convenience here --> http://www.swft.co.uk/examples/bloonblaster/BloonBlaster.html

I know it isnt much at the moment, but I look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on the structure :)

Cheers,
