It is not possible to detect if the path is valid or not in the client using js.

Even if you did detect that it was bad, what would you do?

Hi,

I am using Swfobject 2.2. Using Dynamic loading ( swfobject.embedSWF )

I am getting a Blank (totally transparent) Flash player when the source is Invalid. For example, when the user types in a wrong file name.
When I right click on the invisible flash player, I get the flash right click menu and it says "Movie not loaded..."

Is there a way to check for this state via an event handler in Java script, so that I can then display the error message more clearly.

To recreate this problem, just change the filename to something invalid on a working flash movie player.

Any pointer in the right direction or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
