This is my .swf file:
http://zainabaliyu.net/Main.swf

I'd like it so that the file is completely centered in the page, so
that when the screen resolution gets smaller than the max width/height
(around 1700x900 px) the edges just cut off. The min height/width
would be 1024x768. Someone led me to swffit and told me that it does
what I'd like my .swf to do?
Except I don't know how I'd go about coding it.

Can someone help me with the code?

check the HTML files that comes inside swffit.zip, the one you are looking for is this: http://swffit.millermedeiros.com/example_w_maxsize_centered.html - use this HTML as an starting point.

the method swffit.fit() receives this parameters: http://swffit.millermedeiros.com/#api

good luck.

Hmmm using that code, I just get: http://zainabaliyu.net/

The right side cuts off instead of both the right side and left side
getting cut off at equal amounts. Also that one centers vertically and
horizontally but I think it would look better only centered
horizontally.
That's what's happened when I used different swffits. I'm not sure how
to go about having it centered horizontally completely so that when
resized the left and right get cut off equally.

swffit is working as expected.. now your problem is inside flash. set the "stage scale mode" and "stage align" to the proper values.

cheers.
