Anyway to use IE9s controls?

I'm using SWExplorerAutomationClient 2.0.72 and IE 9.0.8112.16421.
Is there a way to use the control buttons on the actual IE? For instance is there a way to activate the
"Stop (ESC)" button? I have a web page that won't resolve to the map (or even map) until you hit the stop button.
