--Theme of Durgotsav-2015Dear Sherwoodians,Greetings from Sherwood Estate Puja Committee-2015-16 !!!
Sherwood Estate Pujo Celebrations started in the year 2008, as a newly developed housing complex Sherwood also went through initial hurdles to construct a strong foundation for a Festival Celebration Committee. As time went on more innovative ideas started flowing in with more residents occupying the complex.Sherwood entered the theme Zone of Durga Pujo Celebrations from 2014 - 2015 and successfully demonstrated the theme Durga within Urban Nature in the same year and also won few accolades. This year that is 2015 - 2016 the theme selection was majorly done considering the lives of Rural Tribes, our Artist Arjun Bhattacharjee put in his efforts to showcase the pandal structure as a Wish Tree or in Bengali what we call as a 'Manat Gach' where villagers tie threads to fulfil their wishes in life. The physical attributes of the idol or Protima tries to reflect the Rural Tribal Beauty, the Colour combination of every idiol reflects the usual sparkle which is the desire of every Tribe ... The sparkle they try to achieve through the Wish Tree. This is Sherwood Estate's humble effort to salute the spirit of Rural India.Enclosed is the Pujo Nirghonto both in bengali and englishWarm RegardsBiplab BhattacharyaaOn Behalf of Sherwood Estate Puja Committee-2015-16
