Hi All,

In order to curve abnormal increase in number of accidents in this "accident prone zone", don't you think a motion should be initiated for the safety of all especially kids, ladies and senior citizens who frequently use public transport thus cross the road on foot.

However much our guards try, but the rouge drivers are too difficult to manage.

Therefore, speed breakers will force them to slow down.

Kindly look into this matter on high priority.

Thanks,

S Bhatia

Hi Bhatia,

You are sending the mail to Sherwood Estate Puja Committee, however since I am also part of the current AOC would request you to please come up with plan or suggest us a way forward to address the concern raised in the mail. We as AOC will be extremely obliged with your suggestion and help.

Thanking you with Regards,

Mainak

Hi Sherwood Flat owners and Mr R. Gupta,

Like to share across all few of the responses (unedited) in this matter :

QUOTE

"Yesterday a girl was lucky enough to save her life barring few stitches... while crossing the road when a speedy biker knocked her down on the nsc bose road in front of the main gate and the guard's immediate response"

"And I would agree with that and support it.  The gate just opens up to the road with lots of moving traffic induxing a risk of accudent all the time . It is extremely good suggestion."

"For a simple application to Sonarpur Rajpur municipality cc to local counceller and Sonarpur thana, we need to follow protocols, meetings and so on....."

"He has asked for suggestions. Ask them if they can write an application. If yes , then tell them what to do. The OWLS or whatever they are will be more than willing to oblige"

"Experience matters, if a person is not taking action and asking suggestion, I need not to comment on that but surely he is killing the time. Never the less, this matter/issue is touching us all and an urgent action is required.

I hope AOC will take up with road transport since it is part of highway and concerned local authorities

SB, I made mail on same but it bounced back since I have not registered, any way u can copy my works and convey

Good action come with poor response."

"Let's focus on "how to take preventive measures to minimize risk to life", if it's outside the domain of ABCD committees of sherwood, then developer may be of help as traffic to Woodsquare is also vulnerable"

"I don't think developers will take any interest in this matter. It has to be done by the residents or anyone representing them"

UNQUOTE

The stretch and the bend from Sugam Park, Petrol Pump, Sherwood Main Entrance to Woodsquare Entrances is most vulnerable and prone to accident whether on vehicle or on foot. At least 3 speed breakers with signage are needed.

To initiate the process, the following are suggested :

1. An application from Sherwood Flat Owners / Representative Body of Sherwood Flat owners signed by President or Assigned Authority. If a similar letter can be attached from developer, it will be stronger.

2. Addressed to the Chairman/ Vice-Chairman of Sonarpur Rajpur Municipality, who are the custodian of the black road. We pay taxes so they have to listen to us and act. Since they are elected body, political/vote bank matters to them.

3. CC to The Officer - in - Charge, Sonarpur P.S. Road safety and Preventive actions on Law and Order are their most priority subjects.

4. CC to Local Counceller, MLA and MP. In view of the forthcoming elections, we can expect prompt response from them.

5. If we can collaborate with Sugam Park Flat Owner too, our Voice will be much stronger and it might be difficult to ignore.

Over to others for more suggestions....AOC is taking up the issue soon.

Thanks Mainak for your prompt response. Do appreciate.

Mattu - Really don't know as how the communication happens among flat owners ... so many groups are too complex a subject to decipher ( inadvertently, had addressed the mail to Puja committee  who are quite responsive and visible for their good work )

Mr R Gupta - Would appreciate your support.

Thanks again and Wishing Safe Life to ALL.

Hi Mainak,

I am sure the issue Mr Bhatia  has addressed is touching all of us.

Speed breakers proposal has to be submitted  from Sherwood Estate to Road transport authorities OR to concerned department, for smooth movements. These are  safety measures and all big societies are implementing it now.

How are where it has to be fixed / made is a matter of concerned area authority decision OR if they assign Sherwood to decide, it can be done too.

It is a serious matter and AOC has to take an action on this call.
Hope for understanding.
