Ihave a S9 that stopped syncing due to not compatible. I tried to use ipad mini but the OS is to old. I can't find my dongle. I finally was able to do a factory reset and the time is right again. So, now i just have a fancy watch. Not happy and don't want to pay for a new dongle when fitbit hasn't made the new phones compatible.

Additionally, some users with phones not on the list have mentioned that following the steps on this article has helped them sync. Maybe you could give it a shot. Keep in mind that there is a chance to sync your Fitbit as long as the phone fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0. Having said that, as you know, we cannot guarantee that it will.

I've long since lost the sync dongle for syncing my fitbit flex with my PC. Rather than having to get a brand new dongle, I'd love to see a feature to sync over my laptop's built in bluetooth. My laptop is bluetooth 4.0 supported so I don't see why I need a superfluous dongle!

A Windows 8.1 laptop that has bluetooth on it, and uses the Fitbit App should not need a dongle to sync. It should sync through the bluetooth just like your phone so that you do not need to waste your usb plugs with a dongle. What is the point using a dongle if you have bluetooth?

I also agree! My Fitbit is smarter than my smart phone and will not sync to my android. I have many co-workers that also have Fitbits and I ended up taking my doggle to work so I could sync there but I would also like to be able to update at home especially on weekends. I have a brand new bluetooth enabled 8.1 laptop at home that cannot sync either unless I remember to bring my doggle back and forth everyday,

There are plenty of modern Windows-based devices that natively support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). If I enumerate BLE devices from my Windows 8.1 tablet (a Lenovo Yoga), I can see my One - but I still have to sacrifice one of my two USB ports if I want to sync - this is silly. Please support native BLE hardware on Windows platforms. Users of Surface, Yoga and other ultralights can't afford to waste precious USB ports on the fitbit dongle.

i think many of you are confused. conor95 is talking about the fitbit app for W8.x. the W8.x has a modern ui app that works with the dongle now. many new W8.x pc, laptops, tablets, hybrids such as surface pro have bluetooth 4.0. built in but the app isn't using it . bt4.0 is used by some smartphones and is required by fitbit with these apps. my surface pro bt sees my fitbit, just cant sync without dongle until fitbit adds this connection to existing app. it would seem to be a simple thing for an accomplished programmer.

Yes Windows 10 Fitbit app works with devices with Bluetooth 4.0 now. The app is laid out better. Needs a few tweaks. It also works with Cortana. it appears the time since last sync is fixed. Thanks FitBit. btw FitBit has the best support I've ever seen.

@Conor95This feature is currently available for the Windows 10 Fitbit App! If your computer supports Bluetooth 4.0 BLE, it can directly sync using the PC/tablet's Bluetooth hardware instead of requiring use of the sync dongle. Click here for more details.

Thanks for posting on the Feature Request Board, see you around!

I am currently working on a project where we will have limited time working with the Ion console we have available so I would like to program it ahead of time on the computer and then transfer it to the console. The problem that I have is that I'm not sure if our theater department has the dongle for use together. Is there any way to use the computer program without the dongle? I know that using it is fine as I've done some simple stuff to get used to working with it, but I need to know if it's possible to get the results off my computer and onto the board.

Can anyone recommend a wireless Bluetooth mouse that will connect to the Laptop 13 without needing to plugin a dongle/receiver? I prefer smaller mice from a decent brand e.g. Logitech but open to all suggestions!

Interesting. Do you know if it works with NiMH rechargeable and/or lithium non-rechargeable AAs? Thinking of the proverbial leaking alkaline AA cell here (at least from flashlight and remote control experience).

From what we understand from the USB dongle schematics, the USB is a combination of a USB to Serial module with an RFduino integrated to connect to the cyton's RF module. Is there a way to use the equipment we have to use the Cyton board without the USB dongle?

Thanks, OpenBCI Team.

Hi, this board was purchased from OpenBCI for research from previous years. We think the dongle was lost by the previous users so that's why they were trying to use the modules in the pictures. Is there a way to connect the board without it while the dongle is shipped?

Can anyone help. I have limited usb ports on my computer (HP Laptop) and I want to connect the wireless mouse to it without the dongle. However I cannot get the mouse to be recognised by the computer?

A wireless mouse connects with the matching wireless receiver ( the matching dongle). Without the dongle, it will not have a connection, unless it uses Bluetooth and your laptop uses Bluetooth. Without the complete model number of the mouse and the laptop, unable to help further.

From the product information page, it says nothing about Bluetooth, so I have to assume it uses the normal 2.4GHz signal similar to WiFi but it needs the USB receiver designed for the mouse. The work around would be to replace the dongle or get a different mouse that has a dongle.

Sorry for jumping in. As you said, it is a Link-5 dongle therefore you can buy a new Link-5 receiver and RE-PROGRAM it. Otherwise buying a new set because each mouse must have a code to talk with its receiver (dongle). Just thinking a small room with 20 people who use SAME coded mice/receivers, must be very interesting.

All wireless mice are not create equal. Need the make and model of the mouse and it would be helpful to have the make and model of the PC, too. That info is needed to give advice to @yousofza 's question/statement.

I have an HP 500RG ENVY Rechargeable Mouse Model #HSA-S002M AND MY BRAND NEW HP ENVY 17T notebook lacks USB ports (they want you to buy an extension cord with more ports) so to save a port I want to use my mouse over Wi-Fi. Any ideas? Is this IMPOSSIBLE...??? Why has no on e already done this...???

First, do you have a license dongle connected to the machine? The steps above are all under the assumption that someone does have a dongle. These steps are to make sure the driver for the license dongle is installed.

Today the team came to install solar panels on the house and they setup the sun2000-5ktl-l1 inverter. I was not aware at the time when I configured the system that I needed a dongle to connect it to home assistant. My question is: is there a way to connect to this inverter without this dongle? I have seen that there is an integration in HACS but when I try to connect to the inverter it says that connection failed.

With these on, in the integration you need to provide the IP address (it is a good idea to set a static up!) of the inverter and then connect on one of the two possible ports: 502 or 6607 and select the box with advanced elevated permissions.

if all is well, it should ask you for username and password. Here you write the installer password. Then your integration should start discovery of the inverter and the smart meter if you have it.

One thing of note is that while the inverter is accessible through HA, you will not be able to connect to it via the mobile phone app. It only accepts one active connection to the internal settings.

I had the installation done by a company and do not have the installer account. The company claims that the modbus option is not available (grayed out) in their ui. They are awaiting a callback from their vendor for this.

I use a RPi for Home Assistant and connect the ethernet LAN to my router, and then connect the WiFi interface to the SUN2000 installer wifi AP, to connect to the modbus. It works perfectly. I can access all the mode changes etc.

no I am curious! I use the same integration, only I use it through the network and not connected directly to the inverter WAN. This way I can only switch the inverter on and off and I can read all the info I want. You say that my directly connecting to the inverter wifi you get access to more controls?

I can confirm, this works with the setting local O&M enabled without any dongle when the converter is connected to your own (wifi) netwerk. This for the SUN2000-2KTL-L1. Translated from Dutch, but my steps:

There is a permanent hotspot now near the converter. Too bad, keep in mind this might conflict a little with your own network. But given there is not a lot of traffic on the hotspot, I do not think it will cause an issue.

In home assistant, install the Huawei Solar addon (HACS). I had to use the 6607 port. There are no credentials needed, so any installer (party) can themselves enable this option during installation without permanently giving you the password.

UnknownModder - If your replacement headset was new, it would've come with a dongle so no pairing is needed. If you wanted to use the old dongle for some reason, you can pair them: -us/articles/360025279392-Pair-the-VOID-PRO-RGB-Headset-and-Wireless-Receiver-Dongle

I don't have a great computer knowledge so am quite confused about a problem with installing vectorworks. It installed fine but at no point did it ask for the dongle and it specifically says not to insert it without a request. I read the answer to a similar problem but they had been able to open a demo version. I opened the license mgr installer and the dongle installer but still nothing happened. Any thoughts? I don't know if it makes a difference but it is a UK version.

I had the same problem. It installed fine but never asked for a dongle and i cant run the program. My dongle is purple and my serial number starts with a B. Is there anyone who can tell me what to do?
