Infinite Money Glitch is a slang term describing a scheme that seemingly allows the person using it to earn large amounts of money with little effort. Such schemes often have a caveat like including elements of fraud or exploration, being more labor-intensive than presented or their application being limited by various factors. The term is borrowed from gaming culture, where it has been used to describe easy ways to earn large amounts of money or resources without cheats.
More "infinite money glitches" (also referred to as infinite money hacks, bugs, tricks, etc.) were posted on GameFAQs[2][3] and other gaming forums through the 2000s and later, with the phrase usually describing either in-game exploits or simply efficient ways to earn large amounts of money in the game (examples shown below, left and right).
The phrase transitioned from gaming slang into more widespread use in the early 2020s as it started being used online to describe seemingly quick and easy ways to earn money. For example, on November 18th, 2020, X / Twitter[4] user @postedinthecrib described opening a fast-food franchise with the phrase, with the post (shown below, left) garnering over 20 reposts and 2,600 likes in three years.
On November 3rd, 2021, X[5] user @Mlickles wrote that producing Sonic shoes could be an infinite money glitch for SEGA, with the post garnering over 1,600 reposts and 14,400 likes in two years (shown below, right).
In addition to X, posts sharing various "infinite money glitches," as well as videos exposing some "infinite money glitches" as grifts and parodies, went viral on TikTok. For example, on August 14th, 2022, TikToker[6] daniel_iles posted a video about an "infinite money glitch" that involved exploiting a bank's cashback program, which gained over 720,000 views and 70,000 likes in one year (shown below, left).
I'm a new poster to the forum, yet I've frequented the site since it's inception. I usually don't post anything because most everyone has anything/everything I could ever discover or covered already. I have recently been playing AoT: TDC and finished it on insane. I still needed quite a bit of money to unlock all masks, guns, tats, and gear and I noticed that I hadn't played any of the Overkiller contracts. I loaded up the Overkiller contract for the mission "Outside Contact" and noticed something odd. I rushed through as fast as I could and killed the brute first thing which you can then finish the level at that point. I didn't kill one single enemy to the left, but my A.I. partner was over there the entire time making callouts like, "RPG down," etc. I stayed looking right where the Brute showed up first, and the enemies infinitely respawned. I was questioning this, but after 15 minutes I said screw it and killed all the enemies that my "amazing" A.I. partner had been wounding behind me and that shut off the enemy spawns to the right. I thought it was just a fluke, but I quickly loaded it right back up and VOILA!!! It happened again and as soon as I turned around after 10 minutes of brainless holding of the RT, I killed the enemies that the A.I. partner was dancing with and it stopped the respawns. First run I had after 15 minutes I made $116k and the second run was $68k. I hope this helps and hopefully I explained it properly. Instead of playing through the game for a third time, this was a lot more satisfying needing only two runs.
I'm not sure, but I would think so. The key is to not touch the enemies at all to the left when you come down that little hill where the Brute pops out at. But remember in Overkill, you don't take damage. I was constantly getting pelted by the enemies my A.I. partner was keeping alive. But I honestly don't know if it will work with a co-op partner. And if it does, just post for confirmation
Thanks that was def a great find! I,m sure this will save alot of gamers the trouble to run thru the game many times or replay some mission to boredom. As for myself i tried it today and it worked! Basicly with one go i could buy all the stuff i was missing and be able to get the missing two achievements. Keep it up
Will confirm shortly when my coop partner comes online as we only have a few levels to finish insane and then just grind for money... Presumably this would also allow for boosting level, bug would imagine impossible to
If you do this as they guy described is above it doesn,t matter, matter of fact is its even better that he doesn,t shoot or kill as much enemies, because the key here is to just shoot the guys that come from the right side once you killed the brute. Key is to keep killing them and they will respawn, i tested this and it keeps on going as long the IA buddy don,t kill all of the guys on the left or gets downed. As long as your overkill meter gets filled by killing enemies your fine. I think the trick is the stay at some distance and not run all the way down. A good point to stay is roughly between the broken plane part on the right just before the seats and cover. It worked right away for me first time, so my wild geuss you probly rushed to far down and this might prevent enemy respawn. Just try it again
Yup this does work, also if you play for a total of 21 minutes.....you will walk away with $100,000 guaranteed. I earned $120,000. Note: sometimes the enemies will slow up and not run out...you may lose overkill...if you do toss 2 grenades at the box in the middle where the enemies hide....instant overkill again.
Kill everyone first area, kill the breach enemies, shoot the plane husk down, run the zig zag area, as soon as the brute appears after the zig zag area let him come to you and kill him......THEN..... inch your way to where that brute appeared ...... You want to make sure you do not go anywhere near the blue box in the middle, try to stay in the narrow area where the brute was but go out enough so you can see the enemies that spawn and run from the right. Hope that helps
[spoiler=0624] In the Mission, 48. Salem on Trial, when playing as Alpha, you'll get separated from Bravo. When Alpha (you) is stranded on the balcony, DO NOT GO DOWN STAIRS. Enemies will keep respawning from the double doors where Salem went through. I spent a good 15 minutes here and ended up with $58,577. And when I wanted to move on to end the mission, a Brute and 2 shield-carring soldiers where frozen. Free melee kills!
I tried this night but I was playing on easy. Never left the balcony or went down the stairs. After killing for a while, the messages said area clear. I think I ended the mission with about 12k. Any suggestions??
I still have my insane run to do. So I will see how much money I need afterwards. I will try it but I also have overkill edition with some contrats I have yet to play. Heard they are a good way to get some extra cash.
Did this a couple times for $118,000. I turn right after the brute and walk into the airplane fuselage. From there enemies funnel into the tube to me and I shoot out the door on its left to keep the combos going.
THIS!!! I was trying to get to the area the op was talking about never could get it to work. As soon as you kill the brute look to the right. I didn't go into the plane just stood in front of it and blasted away. Also noticed you need to kill the guy that spawns way to the left. Sometimes he will just stand there but if you shoot towards him, he will come your way. You should have a steady supply of guys to kill. I played this contract twice after finishing both playtru s, and had enough to buy everthing required for all the other cheevos. Great place to farm some cash!!
A member of the WallStreetBets sub-reddit named Call_Warrior posted about his use of the trading glitch Tuesday night, detailing how he leveraged his deposit to hold more than $1.7 million worth of Advanced Micro Devices stock. The post has since been deleted, but screenshots show him using the app to amass 47,600 shares of AMD.
"After realizing I only had a few thousand dollars to gamble, I decided why not try this new 'glitch,'" he wrote. "After seeing people on the almighty wallstreetbets wager a timid 50k or so on average with this new feature available, I thought it was only a clear choice to raise the average for the good of all."
The trade involves Robinhood Gold users selling call options with money borrowed through the app. Robinhood then incorrectly adds the value of the options sold to the user's cash pile, giving them more buying power. Traders then repeat this cycle, and it seems there's no limit to how much a user can exploit the trick. One WallStreetBets described the glitch as an "infinite money cheat code."
Robinhood is "aware of the isolated situations and communicating directly with customers," spokesperson Lavinia Chirico said in a Tuesday email. The company didn't comment on when the bug would be patched, but the app received an update Tuesday.
Call_Warrior apparently saw the glitch's limitless potential as a challenge, commenting Wednesday morning that he plans to "buy as much AMD as possible," and that he was motivated to post his trades after other traders' positions "disappointed" him.
The app's bug was first discovered by WallStreetBets member ControlTheNarrative, who used the glitch to turn a $2,000 deposit into $50,000 worth of Apple put options. When the iPhone maker traded higher the day the options expired, the Reddit user lost the borrowed money and later posted a video of his reaction to YouTube.
"If there's an element of deceit, that you got this by exploiting a loophole in the system, I can see how that could become a securities fraud case," Donald Langevoort told Bloomberg, alerting the traders they may also need to pay restitution on the borrowed cash.
