please which of the OFSP varieties is the best health wise?  has it been introduced into Nigeria? where and what varieties.

Only 1 OFSP varieties has been registered and released in Nigeria. It has high level of Pro Vitamin A . The variety is named UMUSPO/3.

thanks so much. pls can you describe it interms of colour(may be its deep orange or lighter),size (long or short) and and does it have the highest provitamin A among the varieties? Im asking all these because ive not yet seen it in Nigeria and dont know where it is grown presently.

I am not sure about this in Nigeria, but in Kenya we have VITA and Kabode

The variety has been released by National Root Crops Research Institute Umudike,Nigeria. It was released by National Varietal Release Committee ( NACGRAB ) Ibadan , Nigeria.

There are two varieties released in Nigeria, Mother’s delight (deeper orange) and King J (light orange).  Please contact Jude Njoku at NRCRI (jcn...@yahoo.com) for info on how to get vines.  Jan Low
