Hifolks, I have seen posts on the best settings for the LX model of this, but could not find anything for the "best" setup for the XD. I know it's a personal thing, and will vary with the panel and environs, but I'd be keen to use someone else's settings as a starting point for me...(hopefully someone who know's what they are doing )

The higher Color Temperature settings make the picture's white balance too bluish. Because our test PDP-5080HD was calibrated with ISF-certified equipment, using Pioneer's proprietary picture improvements, such as PureCinema, is not necessary. According to our research, other measures such as Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) actually seem to degrade the picture of these upper-tier plasma televisions.

Yes, I am very happy with the quality of the display, it really is so much better than my old 50MXE1 its not funny. I'll keep tinkering with its various capabilities and will get an ISF calibration in the near future.

As for watching, my problem is that the screen has been at home in Melbourne for a couple of weeks now, and I am currently working interstate during the week. So, my wife and 14yo have the run of the screen at present. .

I checked out the manualy on the new LX series (us manual but same tv) and rang pioneer australia, and they're saying the tv will only do 1360x768 via RGB.... This really affects me and i can't see why they woyuld limit the RGB connection? anyone got any clues? it's meant to be a native 1920x1080 set so why not allow that res through 15 pin RGB?

I believe that this is the case - it is probably the result of using the same electronics as the 720p model. It isn't going to be a problem for me as I plan on using a DVI to HDMI converter for computer to screen connection.
