to UNR SWE Outreach Committee
To Nevada Educators,
The Society of Women Engineers, University of Nevada section has
formed a committee that aims to increase interest in Science,
Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education throughout
Nevada. With a rapidly growing national demand for STEM skills, it is
crucial that Nevada students gain even more exposure to these fields.
With stronger math and science programs that show students how their
curriculums are applied to technology and engineering based career
fields, students will become more interested in these subjects.
With this, our mission is to reach out to Nevada’s students and
teachers by engaging them in interactive projects and after-school
programs that apply mathematics and scientific curriculums into the
various engineering fields. This program will increase awareness about
engineering as a great option for a college major and undoubtedly
successful future career.
At the Society of Women Engineers STEM Outreach Evening, we will
introduce concrete projects for teachers and students that are fun,
easy and encouraging towards engineering. We would like you to join us
on this evening because supporting our programs and utilizing the
tools we offer students will…
