Hi guys,
I promise that this is the last email today.

NCLab will have a new logo. A few possible designs are attached, please send your
comments or preferences if you have time. The logo matters, it will stay with us for
many years.

The new slogan of NCLab is "Online STEM Laboratory". That's what I was telling
everyone anyway. Now it is displayed on the home page http://nclab.com.

Best,

Pavel

Pavel,
How do you upload a pdf file/image/document on one of these posts like
you did? Does it have to be an online link?

Jackie,

It depends whether you are talking about Google Docs sharing,
or Facebook or Google+. If the former, then one can create
a shared document there and make an image part of it. I saw that
people also shared PDF files on Google Docs. Regarding Facebook
or Google+, itis very easy to upload an image there. I never tried
a PDF file there.

The top image is the front view of the 3D SWE Gear with an added emphasis of STEM Outreach on it. This DOES NOT mean I dislike Pavel's 3D designs, but a common discussion among the SWE members is that the logo needs to have Outreach on it. I NEVER want to take away the design and effort of the 3D logos. If it seems I did, I apologize. I don't know how difficult it would be to put STEM Outreach on the logo, but I think it would be good to do so. But any future SWE UNR T-Shirt should use the SWE Gear designed by Pavel, provided it has a clear background so that the design could go on any color shirt.

I can do it but let's make sure first that everyone is fine
with your design - I do not want to redo it multiple times.

The blue background can be taken out in any graphics program.

I feel that the design needs to have some type of STEM Outreach something but frankly, I feel Tanaka's design is far too busy. Maybe if we had Pavel's design that is at an angle because I really like the 3-D look and then have STEM Outreach written underneath it?

Yes, as I said before, the place where I designed bumper stickers in the past is very limited in what it could do. It was too busy, since the colors don't match and I did put the STEM OUTREACH below the gear. The problem was that it didn't show up very well, and it would be nice to have the words be the same color as Pavel's design, since the gold and green were just right, and the ones I used were simply too bright (it was the closest the program at BuildaSign.com had). It was more like a idea rather than the actual design.

The original design of the 3D gear corresponds exactly
to the official SWE logo. Tweaking an official logo
is not such a good idea. Writing anything underneath
or above it is OK. To be proactive, I created in NCLab
the text "STEM Outreach" and "University of Nevada,
Reno". Both are 3D objects and in the same color as
the gear. Whoever will make the T-Shirts will be able
to put the things together and scale them as needed.
Let me know what you think :)
