Help us with a Talent Search
and you could earn $500
for your club or team!
Dear Collegiate Clubs and Teams:
Congratulations on a successful year and fantastic racing at Collegiate Road Nationals last month!
We're reaching out to you today to let you know about a special project we have in the works with the United States Olympic Committee.
Though it hasn't been officially announced yet, we are working to host a reality show at the Olympic Training Center here in Colorado Springs to identify future Olympic
hopefuls. It's being planned as a week-long NFL-style combine where athletes participate in a series of tests scheduled for July 9-17.
We need your help to recruit top talent!
We believe that college campuses are an optimal environment for identifying potential cycling talent.
What we're looking for is men and women capable of meeting the power demands required for a team sprint starter (the person racing team sprint from position 1).
Click here to see the testing protocol.
We'd like to ask you to please consider and recruit athletes from your campus to participate in a field test that will help us identify potential track cycling talent.
Please note: The athletes you consider DO NOT have to be cyclists! (In addition to cycling - think soccer, football, track & field, etc.)
USA Cycling's Athletics Department will award $500 to the first ten collegiate clubs or teams that can identify candidates capable of producing 19-22 watts/kilogram.
To qualify for the pay-out, please have your candidates identified and testing results submitted to me via email to
jimm...@usacycling.org on or before May 31, 2017.
If you have any questions about testing requirements for this exciting project, don't hesitate to ask.
Kind Regards,
Jim Miller
VP of Athletics
