Hi everyone,
Just wanted to pass this along to you guys! Hope everyone is having a great summer!
To you environmentalists out there look at the email below...lots of opportunities to get involved and help make a difference.
Oh, by the way an instructor at SWC has offered to be an advisor for the club...do any of you want to be a part of 2010-2011 Environmental Club??? It would be nice for those of you who are going to be on campus and interested to think about an officers position. It has its perks! You can submit for scholarships and it looks good on your transcripts. Plus you can get some real Leadership Skills!
Oh by the way elections for the Governing Board are coming around so get out and vote! Tell your neighbors and friends! If we don't want to have 40% class cuts we need to take a stand and vote!
Well take care and hope to hear from you!

| Morning After Mess Shows Need to Support AB 1998 to Ban Bags |
|
The 7th Annual Morning After Mess Cleanup was a huge success, with over 750 volunteers collecting 2,300 pounds of trash and 8,000 cigarette butts from San Diego's beaches. San Diego Coastkeeper hosted the Ocean Beach site, where our team brought in thousands of marshmallows and over 200 plastic bags. Since marine wildlife is harmed on a regular basis by ingesting plastic bags, we are working hard to pass AB 1998, which would ban plastic bags in the state of California! Please write to your senator to show your support for this bill or contact ali...@sdcoastkeeper.org if you would like to contribute to this campaign.
Special thanks to Hodad's for feeding the hungry coordinators delicious burgers and onion rings after the cleanup. |

Pick up Three
Our Morning After Mess volunteers helped to remove more than 200 plastic bags from Ocean Beach alone. When you're at the beach, help lessen trash left behind by cleaning up after yourself and then picking up three more items of trash. If we all Pick Up 3, imagine the difference we will see. |
