Students’ Council is pleased to organize a distinguished talk on,

Title:          “Inside a budding Entrepreneur’s mind: Promises and Fears”
Speaker:        Dr. Parveen Jain
Date:           Sunday, February 27th, 2011
Time:           9:30 AM to 10:45 AM
Venue:  Satish Dhawan Auditorium (SDA in CSIC building)

Tea/Coffee will be available starting 9:00 AM at the venue

The event will be very helpful for students,
    1...and faculty interested in entrepreneurship
    2...willing to network with like-minded people
    3. The above talk will be followed by a talk specifically meant for
Product Managers (PM’s) from the industry after which the PM’s may be
available for the students to interact with regarding any
positions/internships etc.

•       Admission is free for students, faculty and alumni of IISc
•       Do remember to carry your ID card

About the Speaker:
Dr. Parveen Jain has founded and sold multiple companies in hi-tech area.
Most recently, he founded and was CEO and Chairman of JovianData, Inc.
which was acquired by Market Share Partners in August 2010. Prior to that,
he was Executive Vice President (EVP) of Corporate Development, Strategy &
Business Development at McAfee, Inc., where earlier he served as EVP of
Worldwide Marketing, and President of Network Security Business Unit.
Before McAfee, Parveen was founder and CEO of IntruVert Networks which was
acquired by McAfee (earlier known as Network Associates) in May 2003.
Before IntruVert, Parveen spent 15+ years in power & process industry and
held executive positions with Computing Technologies International (CTI),
Expert-EASE etc. Parveen is an active angel investor serves on the boards
of several startup companies.

Dr. Parveen is a dedicated philanthropist, and serves multiple
not-for-profit religious organizations (such as Jain Center of Northern
California) and social organizations (such as American Foundation for the
Blind, South Asian Heart Center)  as an executive and/or an Advisor,
Trustee or Board Member.

Dr. Parveen has received several awards including Hay Gold Medal for Best
Student of BE-ET at IISC, has five granted and several pending US Patents,
and he has authored over 50 business and professional papers. He has a
Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), MS in Nuclear Engineering from the University of
Cincinnati, BE-Electrical Technology from IISc (Bangalore, India), and a
BS (Physics Honors) from Delhi University.
