Hi all,
I am recreating my SWAT model in MWSWAT and have stumbled on the first step. For some reason I cannot draw a new mask. If I use the "current view extents" than I can do the delineation, but I cannot draw my own mask. It would be silly if I have to get back to ARCGIS to create a mask shape file to use in MWSWAT.
Any clues? I am running windows XP MWSWAT 4.8 and have watershed delineation plugin and the MWSWAT plugin installed. Is there a plugin that i am missing?

Hi Willem,

I don't understand what you mean by "cannot draw a new mask". I just
tried it with the latest version of MapWindow and I could do it (this is
a version due for release soon). If you are using version 4.8.1, the
current release candidate, then you should go back to 4.7.5, the last
stable release (in the MapWindow website, select Downloads -> Plugins &
Tools and look for previous release candidates). Watershed delineation
in 4.8.1.is known to have some problems.

There are other ways to make a mask with MapWindow, eg using the
Shapefile Editor plugin.

You could try running without a mask - do you really need one? Its main
effect is to speed up watershed delineation a little. It can be
dangerous in cutting off part of the watershed. (Conversely, it can be
used to force watershed delineation to stay within a boundary when that
is known precisely.)

I managed to make it work, after I found out that I have to reverse right and left click for my left handed mouse, I was a bit stupid not to think about that.

Here is my next question. I want to use user specified landuse and soil data. I figured out the format for the files, but what about the tables. Is there an example?

I have attached an example forecast file and the forecast chapter for the SWAT model.  Please understand that the forecasting module has not been extensively used or tested.

Thanks,

Nancy
