bacteria in dry conditions

Dear All,

I have a question regarding bacteria dynamics in the SWAT model. When there is no rainfall or flow, the model predicts zero concentration of bacteria in the stream. This persists for sometime until there is rain.

I'm wondering if there are processes that I can look at or parameters that I can tune to see if bacteria becomes non-zero during dry conditions. I know there is sediment processes, soil erosion parameters, that I have been looking at but so far it did not predict non-zero values of bacteria in the stream.

I would be interested to hear your suggestions.

Thanks,
Ashehad

Hi Filipe,

Thanks for your feedback. I think I need to use the QSWAT+ codes. Then, I'll be able to solve this problem.

Best,
Ashehad
