extract daily flow from daily output table

Dear All,

I am spending too much time on the extraction of daily flow from the daily output table. First, I have to open output.std in excel, 

then delete all the information but the daily water yield(mm) by hand. It is such a pain.

Does someone has a clever way of doing it?

Yep, there is a far easier way to do it.  "SWAT Simulation" -> "Read SWAT output," then check the checkboxes, click on "import files to database," then on "open swat output.mdb."  If you are using an earlier version of SWAT, just go to "my computer" (or "computer," or "windows explorer," or whatever it's called on your system), navigate to your project directory0->scenarios->default->tablesout   and then choose the subbasin in which you are interested out of the access table.

Hi, Justin

I am using the current version of Arcswat and after import output files to Dababase. I tried to open"SWAT Output.mdb"
I got the following message:"The command line you used to start Microsoft Access contains an option that Microsoft Access doesn't recognize".


I am trying to do it on another machine.

Dear Tingting,

You should look at the SWATPlot tool on the WaterBase website www.waterbase.org.  It allows the user to select particular outputs for reach, subbasin, or hru, from particular scenarios, and first makes a comma separated value file containing them.  You can then display them in the accompanying SWATGraph tool, or use them how you like, for example importing them into Excel.

Dear all,

Thank you for all your help and I can get the access table from SWAT output and I am wondering I couldn't get the exact output. std  from  Access database.
I have tried queries but I couldn't the  exact same answer from two formats of output.



I am not a hydrologist, please forgive me to ask such a question.

Do we take average of the average of sub basins to get the outlet or sum them up?
I have tried both ways, the answer is still different.
If I need the water yield for the whole watershed, what should I do?
