Dear all,

i am recently trying to set up a SWAT+ Modell using the input data of a former student.
I am working with his input data (he used SWAT2012) and some waterbalance parameters just dont seem to make any sense to me.

The graph below is comparing the percolation (mm) of the daily waterbalance in a specific subcatchment.
To me this looks like two completely different processes..
Am i missing something?

Any help with this is highly appreciated!
Keep up the good work! :)

Hi Max,

Before I could say something, you completely replicated your student's SWAT 2012 model with SWAT+? When you mention "Input data," what is all data you are talking about? Is it just climate?

Thanks,
Sushant

Hi Max,

it can be seen, that SWAT+'s precolation does not react to seasons. But first of all: Were is your study area located and is the SWAT2012 percolation dynamic a realistical one to expect? Apart from that, the first thing that comes into my mind is, like I think Sushant is also suspecting, differences in climate data.
Moreover, I would advise you to take a closer look at you soil database, as there might be some issues with the import/conversion from SWAT20212, and the parameter "perco"  which is the percolation coefficient and there to adjusts soil moisture for percolation to occur. This parameter was not present in SWAT2012 (to my knowledge at least) and might be helpful.

Best regards
Alex

Another thing which might be trvial, but sometimes a source of error: Are both timeseries in the same time format, in this case daily values?
