I spend a few hours trying to install SWAT+ on my Mac and ran into a few issues which prevents it from working correctly.  I reached the pit removal and I received the following message:

My computer system is a 16" MacBook Pro from 2019 with an I9 chip and 64 gb of ram

dyld: Library not loaded: @rpath/libgdal.28.dylib

Referenced from: /Users/shaffiqsomani/SWATPlus/TauDEM5Bin/pitremove

Reason: image not found

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Primary job terminated normally, but 1 process returned

a non-zero exit code. Per user-direction, the job has been aborted.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

mpiexec noticed that process rank 0 with PID 0 on node Shaffiqs-MBP exited on signal 6 (Abort trap: 6).

I did look at the QGIS-LTR and there is a libgdal28.dylib, but it is not linking

With that being said, they're a couple of other issues that may or may not related.

To install open-mpi: the following command in the user manual is deprecated.

sudo brew install openmpi

Homebrew no longer allows the use of sudo to install packages since it would give any script full access to the system.

When setting up a project, I had to change the permissions by adding my name otherwise fetching under sharing and permissions will be going on continuously.

Please let me know if anyone else has resolved the issue or solved it with a different OS. Thanks.

Regards,

Shaffiq

I presume you have the dyld: Library not loaded: @rpath/libgdal.28.dylib error when running pitremove within QSWAT+.

If not, please send the exact error.

Otherwise:
  1.  Check you have /Applications/QGIS-LTR.app/MacOS/lib/libgdal.28.dylib
  2. Open a terminal ,  cd to ~/SWATPlus/TauDEM5Bin
  3.  Try the command ./pitremove  You will probably get some messages about libgdal.28.dylib not loaded, and the reason being there is no such file in /usr/local/lib or /usr/lib
  4. enter the command   export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=/Applications/QGIS-LTR.app/Contents/MacOS/lib    and then ./pitremove again.  You should get a different error message saying it is being run wrongly.  This actually indicates all is well: pitremove needs parameters.
Let me know what happens when you do this.

Chris
