Downloading Software to Mac

Most of my experience is with ArcMap, but I now have to create a project using SWAT+. I have a Macbook pro and successfully downloaded QGIS as well as the SWAT+ Editor and QSWAT zip files. However, I can't seem to connect the Swat plugin in QGIS. I can see the information in Finder, but when I click the installer file, it simply extracts the zip files and creates a new folder for them. I can run the SWAT+ Editor as an entirely separate application, but when I try to add it as a plugin in QGIS, SWAT doesn't even show up in the list. This is very confusing and I'd really appreciate any help with this.

Hi, thanks for trying out the MacOS version. This is incredibly new to us, so we appreciate your feedback. First, check this guide under the "Loading the QSWAT+ plugin" heading and see if you can troubleshoot what could be going on there. Make sure you have QGIS 3.16.

If you will open either the installforme.sh or installforall.sh (whichever you used) in a text editor, you can see the location of SWAT+ Editor to launch it on its own.

If this is a problem in any way, you can also just download the SWAT+ Editor dmg at https://bitbucket.org/swatplus/swatplus.editor/downloads/ but keep in mind, this will put it in Applications and it will be a separate program from the install with QSWAT+ you did earlier.

Hi Jaclyn,

Thank you for your response. I have successfully downloaded QGIS and SWATPlusEditor onto my computer - they show up as 2 different applications. I can open the Robit demo on QGIS, but the problem is, I don't see an option to add SWAT as a plugin in QGIS, so I don't know how to get that data over to SwatPlusEditor. The troubleshooting guides have been really tough to understand since most of it is shown from a PC and the one I watched said to open the data in QGIS first then open via SWAT plugin. If there is a way I could just open the Robit info on Swat+ Editor I'd be happy to do that, I'm just not sure how.
