Hi all,

Since a commit made in March 2026, it seems the latest SWAT+ code is no longer in sync with the file format for daily recall inputs produced by the SWAT+ Editor.

For example, a commit made on 5/3 2026 changed parts of recall_read.f90, and it appears that the recall type (read from recall.rec) has changed from integer to character  type. Unfortunately, the commit did not include examples of updated daily recall files. We tried updating recall.rec to reflect the new recall_read.f90 code, but the model crash at runtime (when using code version from commit on 19/2 2026 or earlier the model runs fine and reads the daily recall files as expected). If I turn off point sources (recall) I can run a simulation with the latest code. If I use a constant recall input, the model will also run. But turning On daily point source inputs now cause model to crash at runtime.

Is anyone able to share example files for daily recall input that is compatible with the latest code (date: 9. Apr. 2026)?

Many thanks,

Dennis

Hello Dennis,

We are working on the case!
Just for everyone to be aware, that the new commits (on GH) are incompatible with the Editor (which is tuned for the 2024 August release).  Although some datasets may run, depending on the setup, the users might need to adjust their inputs to meet the new requirements. We are also working on a new release for the exe, editor and supporting tools, with an internal deadline being June 2026.
Meanwhile, feel free to reach out and we can help with the reformatting.

Thank you for being part of the SWAT+ community and hope to see you during the conference!
Best,
Natalja
