Dear all,

During HRU creation using SWAT+, the subbasin boundary is outside the HRU. Yes, of course, the total HRU area coincides with the subbasin area (after doing a field calculation). But when we looked at the map in QGIS, the subbasin boundary is outside the HRU boundary in some parts of the subbasin.

I did not use any threshold for soil, LULC, and slope for HRU creation. 

I guess it may bring wrong analysis in the hydrology of my watershed.

Could someone tell me why it happens from experience?

Remember that HRU creation usually involves filtering out small HRUs.
If you look at the actual HRUs shapefile there will be holes where the
filtered-out HRUs were located. The holes are imaginary: in the model
the remaining HRUs are enlarged to fill the space.
