Hello everyone,

My management schedule was working until yesterday when I added more operations to me management schedule, can someone help me figure out what is wrong? I've added screenshots of my managemtn schedules used in my last run. I have 15 management schedules. They are for three different hrus for five different scenarios. I am irrigating the hrus after certain rainfall events corresponding 1-yr, 2-yr, 5-yr and 10-yr 24 hour storms from one day after the storm up to 5 days after. I added the operations for the 2, 5, 10, and another 1 year storm yesterday and now the operations aren't irrigating at the correct times. I provided screenshots of the scenario where I am irrigating the HRUs for onnly one day at a time after each storm. The 10-yr storm operation should irrigate on 9/3/2021, but is irrigating on 9/3/2017. The 5-yr storm operation should irrigate on 9/27/2018, and it is irrigating on 9/27/2016 and 9/27/2019. The 2-yr storm operation should irrigate on 1/11/2024 but it irrigates on 1/11/2019. The one year storm operation should irrigate on 7/19/2018, but it irrigates on 7/19/2016 and 7/19/2019. Lastly, the second 1-yr storm should irrigate on 5/27/2023 but it irrigates on 5/7/2018 instead. My model runs 2010-20205 with a warmup period of 6 years, where it starts on 1/1/2010 and starts printing outputs on 1/28/2016. I used 2016 as the reference year to set the year of rotation for the operations. Even if the operations were to start from 2010, then that means that the 10-year storm should irrigate in 2016 not 2017, since it is set to 6 years to rotate. Can someone check the dates of my operations to see if I am inputting the data in incorrectly? I cannot see where I'm going wrong.

Also, does someone know why my excel does not go past 2019 when it should be printing up to 12/1/2025? It won't load past 2019, and I'm not sure if it is a problem with my computer or SWAT+.

Thank you for reading my lengthy email,
Matt Lombardo

Hello everyone,

I wanted to follow up on this to add some more information. I messed with the years for rotation, as seen in these new screenshots, but I did not see a change in the year that my model was irrigating. Even when changing the years, the model irrigated at the same times as the above email. Can someone help me with this problem?

Thank you,
Matt Lombardo

Hello all,

I wanted to add a third piece of information. I tried to recreate my model again to see if that would fix anything, but I am still having problems with the irrigation year. For my new model, I set schedule to irrigate on 7/19, 9 years into the rotation. Since my model starts in 2010, it should irrigate on 7/19/2018. However, when I checked the hru_wb_day, the model is irrigating on 7/19 every year. Where am I going wrong with the management schedule? I've added one screenshot for my management schedule and three of my hru_wb_day showing the irrigation in 2016, 2017, and 2018. In the excel, I have highlighted the irrigation column. I've also added two screenshots showing how my management schedule is linked to the land use for HRU662.

Thank you,
Matt Lombardo

Hi Matthew, I can't entirely answer your question myself and hopefully someone from the modelling team or who knows more about operations scheduling can jump in and assist. But, I do know that the management.sch input file for SWAT+ doesn't actually have a year field. Just month and day. We have it in the interface to assist with ordering. It's possible you can use the skip operation several times to skip to year 9? Maybe play around with that option to see if it helps.

Hi Jaclyn,

Some of my operations are not irrigating every year. I am irrigating three different HRU's, so I have three different management schedules. At first I had one irrigation operation in each, but I want to have five for each. I started out by adding more operations to the management schedule for HRU662, and when I did the operations stopped irrigating every year. I added screenshots of my management schedule with 5 operations, where the first operation should irrigate every 7/19, but it skips 2017 and 2018. I haven't used the skip operation yet so it shouldn't have skipped over any years. Do you know why it could be skipping years when I add in more operations? I added some screenshots of the hru_wb_day showing that it's skipping over 7/19/2017 and 2018, where the highlighted column is irrigation.

Thank you,
