Best Practice for Assigning 800+ HRUs to 15 Aquifers in SWAT+

Hello everyone,

I'm currently setting up a water allocation in SWAT+ (Editor v2.3.3), where I need to assign over 800 HRUs to 15 different aquifers. I understand from the interface message that water allocation tables are still a relatively new feature and best configured with input from the development team—especially for large and complex setups.

Given that the current GUI seems limited for bulk assignments, I'm wondering:

• Is there a recommended method for efficiently creating large water allocation tables (e.g., by editing specific text input files directly)?

• Has anyone dealt with a similar large-scale HRU-to-aquifer assignment and could share tips or workflows?

• Are there tools or scripts available to help automate this?

I haven’t personally done it, but I know that any changes made in the SWAT+ Editor can be automated using SQL scripts in the database through SQLite Studio.
