Missing weather files in TextInOut although weather data added in SWAT+ interface

Hello everyone,

I am running a SWAT+ model and noticed something confusing related to the weather inputs.

In the SWAT+ interface, I added all required weather datasets (precipitation, temperature, solar radiation, wind speed, and relative humidity). The weather station files look correct in the project database, and I verified that the original weather data files contain valid values.

However, when I check the TextInOut folder, I cannot find the weather input files such as:

  • .pcp – precipitation

  • .tmp – temperature

  • .slr – solar radiation

  • .wnd – wind speed

  • .hmd – relative humidity

Because of this, I am worried that the model may not actually be reading the weather data. The model runs successfully, but the simulated streamflow is extremely low, which makes me suspect precipitation might not be entering the simulation properly.

My questions are:

  1. If weather data are added in the SWAT+ interface, should all weather files (.pcp, .tmp, .slr, .wnd, .hmd) appear in the TextInOut directory after writing inputs?

  2. Is there a step (for example Write Input Files, weather station linking, or climate station assignment) that could prevent these files from being generated?

  3. Could missing weather files cause very low simulated flow, even though the weather data appear correct in the interface?

Any suggestions or troubleshooting ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
