Question About Linking MODFLOW Pumping to SWAT Irrigation

Dear SWAT-MODFLOW Team,

I hope you’re doing well. I’m currently working on integrating MODFLOW pumping outputs with the SWAT irrigation module. However, I’ve noticed that in my irrigation.txt file, there are no HRUs listed as receiving irrigation water — all irrigation values are zero, and no HRU IDs appear under “Subbasin, HRU ID.”

Could you please clarify how I can correctly link the MODFLOW pumping wells to the SWAT irrigation system so that irrigation HRUs are properly identified and receive the simulated water?
Specifically, I would appreciate guidance on:

• How to ensure MODFLOW pumping is recognized as an irrigation source in SWAT-MODFLOW.

• Whether additional setup or parameter linking is required (e.g., in the linkage file, database, or SWAT Editor).

• Any common reasons why irrigation.txt would contain all zeros even when pumping wells exist in MODFLOW.

Especially for linking MODFLOW pumping with SWAT irrigation, I’ll need to look directly at your project setup. Please share your QSWATMOD project folder along with the GIS file so I can review how the linkage is configured.

Once I have those files, I’ll take a look and get back to you.
