Runtime error (exit code 24) — end-of-file on .wel at Period 2 (need help)

Hi SWAT-MODFLOW team,

I’m running a 13-year simulation (4,748 days). All stress periods are set to 1, but the run fails when it reaches Period 2 with this error in the log. The model runs through Period 1 then crashes at the start of Period 2. Could you suggest likely causes and quick checks?

Thanks for any pointers — I’m not sure whether this is a formatting/record-count issue in the well file or something else.

Hi,

If you are using only one stress period, please add an additional 100 days to the MODFLOW simulation period in the *.dis file. The SWAT model accounts for leap years, and this mismatch can cause issues if the MODFLOW simulation period is shorter.
