Difference between best simulation results of SWAT-CUP and SWAT model using best paramters for clibration period

I have used the SWATCUP for calibration period of 2001-2007 and got the best parameters after few iterations.

But when I inserted those best parameters values back to SWAT model and run for same period, the model output is different from the  best simulation which I got from SWAT-CUP.

Actually it should be same.

What should be the reason?

Hi Amee 

I did the same, and there was change in results observed, but there was not much significant difference in absolute values. The reason i presume can be that when we incorporated the best simulated values back to SWAT, there are other parameters besides the one we chose in SWAT CUP for calibration, so those may bring a slight difference. and there is much difference between SWAT and SWAT CUP as explained by Dr Abbaspour in many of his replies to other people, ( Deteministic and Stochastic) ...So it may be other reason.

Use the instructions on page 66 of the manual to do that. You probably did something wrong!

So if I want to calibrate using 3 stations, I should do it all at the same time? Or I can do it separately, and calibrate just for the subbasins upstream of the station? Then I would go to the next one, and the results found use it for the subbasin downstream of the first one, and upstream of this second one. Same fot the third one. Is that possible? Because that way I would get better results.

But how would be the bast way to change the parameters values on SWAT, so that way I can simulate correctly and calibrate for the second station. 

Because when I' m using the Manual Calibration Helper to change that, I am getting different results... a lot diffent (Best_sim - NS=0.86, and SWATOutput - NS=-3.31)

Have you taken care of exact method of paramterization as explained in manual for r, v and a. Read and follow that.

See manual page 66 on how to put the best swatcup parameters back into swat project. Also make sure between swat and swatcup you are running the same swat.exe file.
