SUFI2 algorithm

Dear SWAT-CUP user and Dr. abbaspour,

Recently I study about SUFI2 and want to understand the internal algorithm of SUFI2. I have read the paper written by Dr. abbaspour: Estimating Uncertain Flow and Transport Parameters Using a Sequential Uncertainty Fitting Procedure. After reading I could not understand the transform between Jacobian matrix and Hessian matrix and why need to add variance of object function to estimate the lower bound of the parameter covariance matrix? Base on the fisher information the inverse of Hessian matrix is already the lower bound of parameter’s variance? I really would like your explanation. Also, could you please offer the detailed deducing process about your paper?

did you get the answer? about this question?, i wonder how swat cup work when do iteration, and what the different of simulation and iteration, 

let say, 

1. i have 3 iteration with each simulation 100 per iteration, means total = 300 simulation

2. i have 15 iteration with each simulation 20 per iteration, means total = 300 simulation

will it give the same result by two of these option above?

Hi,ipbal

In my view, the simulation n is the number of segmentaions of parameter range (related to latin hypercube sampling). After one iteration,  we get a new narrowed parameter range. So we can do more inerations and finally get the approptiate parameter range.

In the SWAT-CUP user manual, Dr. abbaspour suggests  the simulation could be 1000-2000 and interation could be 3-5.
