I am trying to develop a SWAT model for a small river basin of the South-Asian region. I am using SWAT-CUP 2012 (5.1.6 version) for model calibration and I am setting the model on ArcSWAT 2012.10_4.21 version.

After the calibration process of SWAT-CUP when I give the fitted parameter values in the SWAT model through manual calibrator/Sub-basin edit; the outflow is not matching with the outflow of SWAT-CUP. I have been calibrating my model for one sub-basin (sub-basin no. 1) in SWAT-CUP. The outflows of SWAT-CUP and SWAT model are not matching either I change the parameters for the same sub-basin or for all the sub-basins (which I need to do).

Can anyone help me to solve this problem?

I have attached the parameter and outflow details here. Thank you.

It would help if you found out which parameters are responsible for
high peak flow. Reduce the values of these parameters, like the trial
and error methods.

I did change the parameters like Cn2, ESCO, Sol_AWC etc according to their sensitivity to lower the peak. I also followed the article you mentioned. Initially my model overestimated the peak and the baseflow was underestimated. The initial nse value of the model was -2.73, I was able to get nse 0.66 after several iterations in SWAT-CUP using 17 parameters. The problem is when I put the best fitted parameters back into swat model the peak is not getting low like the way it did in swat-cup. For example: the CN2 is lowered to 46 from 73 (for LULC->FRST) but it didn't change the outflow much in the model. I set-up the model again and did calibration again but unable to solve the problem. Is there any other way to solve the issue?

Did you update the parameter value manually in SWAT or through the query in the Project MS-Access? If you haven't tried it through that, try it once!

I used both manual calibrator and subbasin edit option also checked the project mdb file to ensure if the parameter updated or not after rewriting input files in the model. But it didn’t solve the problem.

Try it through the update query in the project database, and rewrite it in SWAT. If that doesn't work, it will confirm that the problem is not in writing the files but could be in performing calibration. I haven't got this problem yet, so I am just suggesting you try a new way to write files.

I had the same problem , my model was well calibrated but I was unable to use those calibrated values for my scenarios determination. Like I copied the input files including the TMP and PCP and run my simulations in arc SWAT . I got value which were not as per the calibrated model and there a lot of deviations.

Can you elaborate a bit how we can change the parameters in MS Access after the calibration???

I searched for query updates but unable find any useful source. Can you kindly give use some useful link that can help to implement the process? Thank you.

Hello everyone,
Please, I need help, the calibrate option does not display on swat-cup after configuration.

Try to restart your project or you can try reinstalling swat-cup again. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much, I uninstalled and then reinstalled and it worked.
