Hello friend,

Want to know what happened when you click the "Import Files to Database" button? Curious about why it would take so long to finish? My latest blog would give you some insights on this process, which could be visit here http://zhiqiangyu.wordpress.com/2014/02/12/analysis-of-arcswat-output-export-why-doesnt-swat-change-result-format-a-little-bit/

Welcome any discussions, especially on SWAT output format issue.

well my simple understanding is that each of the file type is associated different parameter and thereby putting all of them as .txt file would simple make them chaotic and further more it is not mandatory  to use access table for organizing output. One can simply rely on more simple manipulation through open source language like "R" and or "python" and read output analyze and plot at the same time. For, example "SWAT2R" package does this job more easily......................................

Well, I don't mean to put all the output files into one text file. Just change the output format a little bit. The current outputs files are txt file anyway.

Good point on SWAT2R and other post-processing tools. Seems several options out there. open source or not. Very interested to see how they handle the SWAT outputs. By the way, which one do you usually use for the post-processing?

Thanks

Hey,
Probably I did not understand your concept very well.
Anyway, I guess with a little of programming knowledge any one can use "R" for post processing, several packages available now or someone can write down their own function. By the way, I use both "R" and "Matlab" for post processing and I can say its far better than access output to me.

Great. I would try R myself. Would you please share some packages or some R codes? It would be a good start.

Thanks

Sure Yu. No problem. If you want we can actually develop a complete package only for post processing. By the way, this is the forum where I posted for BOM data download (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19286072/extracting-australia-bom-weather-data-programmatically-with-r) we were talking about.

cheers

Great. I would learn a little bit R first. :)
