Request for Assistance with SWAT-CUP Error

Hey There,

I hope this message finds you well. When I run SWAT-CUP, it completes a few simulations before stopping due to an error. I’ve been unable to identify the cause of the problem and would greatly appreciate any assistance.

If you or someone you know has encountered a similar issue, I would be grateful for guidance on how to resolve it. Your help would mean a lot to me as I try to move forward with this project.

Hello, this shows that there is an error in one of the files you have set in swatcup. But I can't say anything without knowing what you entered in swatcup. Please share the files you entered in swatcup.

Just screenshots of the basic files in swatcup are enough. Write down the time period and stations you worked at. You can review them this way. I hope I can help.

I have attached the screenshots with this mail. while i try for 100 or 500 or 1000 stimulation it stops at 70 and when i try to run  till 70 it stops at 16 no stimulation. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

As far as I can see, your parameter ranges are too much. If you did not do these parameter searches with a certain logic, you can do them in a way that suits the basic ranges as absolute and relative. I suggest you find the ranges from the absolute swat parameter section and write them accordingly. If you do not come to a certain point and do not like a value you tried, you should change the parameter ranges. Please edit by looking at the min-max values.

Well I got these values from one of the papers written on the same lake. But if you have any idea about where to get the min max values of parameters, could you please direct me to. It would be of great help. Thank you.

You can look at the absulute parameter section in swatcup. You also used a lot of relative values. Since the raw project in that article is different, it does not match your results. Please revise this by looking at the absolute parameter section in swatcup or manual swatcup.

Actually I am just talking about this. The parameters that are suitable in another article may not be suitable for you. Because even if the area is the same, you may have used different data. Or the subbasins may have been determined differently. Therefore, first select the 20-30 parameters that are important. Then divide these parameters into two classes. The first class should be the ones that have different values ​​in each subbasin or hru. You should change them as relative. The second class should be the fixed parameters. You can enter them as v. And work on swatcup using the table you obtained as a result. First, do a sensitivity analysis. Run the best parameters you obtained as a result of this analysis again. And run them repeatedly according to the best parameter ranges. However, remember that swatcup may sometimes make suggestions outside the min-max limits. Therefore, you should check. There will be no problem when you proceed with the process in this way.
