Dear friends,

After several futile attempts, I am trying to get suggestions for daily streamflow simulation from 1990 to 2023.

I am using the following parameters:

But which range should I use to get the simulation result better?

Hi,

My biggest comment about your parameters selection is that you are using only 'v__' change with some parameters were 'r__' change is the best fit, I would advise first to understand when 'v__' or 'r__' change are best fitted.

CH_L2 and CH_D are values estimated by the GIS program were you ensembled, so asking swatcup to vary from 0 to a given values is nonsense. My advice here for you is to understand how each parameters affects the model, and make a more concious parameters selection.

Oscar

Dear Oscar,

Thank you.

I understand that v (uniform) and r (less uinform through the model).

1..May I use r for most sensitive paraments?

2..I understand which parameters are more responsible for which function like; for runoff, recharge, but when i am working continously i am getting stuck with time and whole operation.

Thanks

Dear Friends,

Overall, I used the following parameters, as my model has high runoff and low infiltration:
r__CN2.mgt          0.2     0.5
v__GWQMN.gw         500      700
r__SOL_AWC(1).sol    -0.5    -0.1
r__GW_REVAP.gw   0.05     0.5
r__ESCO.hru       0.5     -0.1
v__REVAPMN.gw    0   300

To do this I follow the following instructions:

1.....But when I reduce or increase the parameter range is there any guide to selecting the range? like during increasing we should use which range?
2.... the NSE value is -1.32.
3....Why 95PPU line did not appear in the graph? Which parameters are responsible for 95PPU line?

Hi,

The set of parameters that you choose is good, but you made mistakes about the type of changes you need:

r__CN2.mgt          0.2     0.5
v__GWQMN.gw         500      700
r__SOL_AWC(1).sol    -0.5    -0.1
r__GW_REVAP.gw   0.05     0.5  -> v__GW_REVAP.gw  0.02  0.2
r__ESCO.hru       0.5     -0.1  ->  r_ESCO.hru   -0.1   0.5
v__REVAPMN.gw    0   300

You can check the min and max absoulte values of each parameters in the Absolute_SWAT_Values.txt file in your SWAT-CUP project. Furthermore, to identify when v__ and r__ changes are best fitted, when a parameter is the same regardless of the LandUse and/or SoilType, then a v__ change is more fitted, when a parameter changes according to the LandUse or SoilType, r__ change is the best fit.

Finally, try to add more groundwater and evapotranspiration related parameter, in the SWAT Theorical Manual the set of parameter that effects every process and the equations are listed on that.

Oscar

Dear Oscar,

Thank you for your information,

I took 40 parameters and found the peak and baseflow deviation.

Then i increased and decreased the relevent parameters those i mentioned in the previous mail in image format.

The range i changed was lowest range to more lower value that i used previous time in this way i processed.

When i will change the range for reach peak and bases flow adjusted, is there any guide?

For my last 40 parameter selection, I get the r and v from the ArcSwat file after visualizing the change or constant values. My last NS value was -0.47

Regards
