R2 doesn't change during calibration

Hello everyone

I am a new user of SWAT CUP after coping the swat application in the SWATCUP folder, the result doesn’t change after 500 simulations. the R2 is 0 and this message appears.

Cannot open input file /SUFI2.OUT/no_beh_sims.txt

THIS IS NOT AN ERROR!!

There were no solutions with the

objective function value >=  the behavioral threshold

Please could you help me?

Share ur best result simulation SS (txt form) and SS of the parameters graphs sensitivity

Make sure u have entered everything correctly in ur input parameters.

2ndly Why the flow values are so low ? What units are u using!? Make sure ur input and output both values are in correct format.

If it's some snow catchment or some region of very high and low altitude, do correct it's Tlaps and Plaps and do fix it's snow parameters first.

Then check initial results , if the results don't match at all , it's bad idea to callibrate it forcefully through bunch of parameters. Go back to ur basic swat model again and check what you are missing there. ( reservoir/dams/ ponds etc )

The text ur shared in ur first msg doesn't mean it's some type of error , it's just showing that the threshold u set for ur objective function isn't archived in any of the iterations u performed.

Hy,

the values are so low because the study site is in an arid region.

The unit of in-out flow is cm for both input-output and observations.

Hi,

  In my opinion, it is important to have a good understanding of your study area. Therefore, when using parameterization in SWAT-CUP, you should carefully choose the range of each parameter, getting as close as possible to the real conditions of your study area. This way, you can reduce errors and increase R².
