I am working on Mahanadi river basin. Now I am trying to calibrate my model so I am considering 13 parameters. With all the13 parameters, I am getting good statistics R2=.85 and NSE=.82 like. but with that out of 13 perimeter 2 or 3 parameters coefficient value is beyond the range like v__ALPHA_BF.gw, v__GW_REVAP.gw etc. Why it happening please suggest. I am attaching the all best parameters below.

Hi,

Numerically SWATCUP is telling that the best value for those parameters are outside that limit, however, SWATCUP is program to cap the value of a parameter to the limit. so if your result file tells you that  v__ALPHA_BF.gw best value is -0.46, in reality it is using the min_value of the range of  v__ALPHA_BF.gw, which by default is 0.

What I normally do is to check the range that SWATCUP recomends after every simulation, and then if that range is outside the limit of the variable, I change it to be inside the limit.

Regards,
Oscar
