I have 2 dropbox accounts, currently signed into one of them. I am unable to sign into my other dropbox account as the email address is from a workplace I am no longer at, I no longer have access to it. I have forgotten the password to the account and can't reset it because I don't have access to the email. I need to cancel the premium Dropbox subscription on the account and delete the account. How can I do this without having access to the email address? I have an invoice from dropbox showing the Premium monthly charge as proof that it is my account.

I am so sorry to repost this same question, but have exhausted myself and all other options. They can't help me from chat. I have the same situation of a second inactive account, possibly from an old employer/ email address. I can supply the potential previous addresses, but I've changed jobs so many times that I'm not even sure which. Please, I need to stop this endless drain of $11.99 on an account I no longer use. I have tried using the "find account" interface by entering the transaction code from my bill, but this interface is not working. I've tried Chrome and Edge and always get the error "enter last 4 digits of credit card," which I have already given in that field. There is a 12-digit code on my credit card bill, but only a 10-digit code on my debit/ checking account bill, so that interface won't accept the 10-digit code anyways. I don't know which one of these codes is from my active account that I want to keep and which one is from the inactive account I want to close. This seems like a super common problem that I wish Dropbox would have some way for people to more directly resolve, rather than having to publicly bug people through the community, when instead it should just be an option pathway in "contact support." i have 2 pay pal accounts which are both linked to my ebay account i can not access the one thats linked to my sellers account on ebay as i have forgotten my login details and the security questions to change them there is money i need to transfer in to my bank account is there any way i can access the account or change the password without the security questions?
If you don't have access to the email address, start the password recovery process and on the page where it says we have sent you an email, look at the last option. It says I you no long have access to the email address you can confirm the account by phone. You can click on by phone and then follow the online steps.

I've tried going through this process of resetting a password for a friend who is struggling to get in to her account but still no joy. She cannot remember the security question answers, she has taken the automated call and entered the codes but the only choice of further verification in the dropdown box is the security questions, and nothing else.
What is the next step? We cannot seem to contact PayPal because we need a one time code in order to call them?!? Surely that's a chicken and egg situation. Is there a number she can call to just have her email account have a reset password link sent to it, or her phone?

I have a business account, the employees who were used to create the account are no longer with the company. We keep getting emails from paypal that have nothing to do with us using my wifes email. She's not autherized any paypal accounts or anything so how on earth is someone using her email to defraud other poor souls when it's not even been verified from her email address.
I've emailed Paypal, I've phoned Paypal, I've emailed them again notifying them of the situation and they seem like they have as much power over their own system as a flatulance in a storm. They wanted us to contact microsoft and tell them to call paypal saying we own the email. I call microsoft and appently we can only be eligable for support if we pay their $99 support fee and even then they wouldn't do that as it's not something they do anyway! Paypal won't give us any details despite us supplying info on the emails, the account name its been opened up in and other details.
It's crazy. I just want a stop put to this account. Paypal have the persons numbers and address's. Why cant they contact 'them' and say they're sending an email that they must reply to else their account will be suspended. The person wouldn't be able to respond as it would come to us and we could stop all this.
Thanks for asking the question. I had a similar situation and I have solved it in my own case. I had a duplicate/s accounts one of which referred to my gmail account. My main ID for apple had apps associated with it and apple orders so wanted to continue using, but it was an old ID so not yet converted to be an email address which caused problems when trying to setup an icloud account, so i needed to change my main ID to be my email account and obviously wanted to use my main email account, but this you guessed it tied up with one of the duplicates. Tried changing ID in duplicates and removing secondary email addresses but did not seem to 'free up' the email address. Was going to use a completely different email address and then remembered that you can use @googlemail.com and @gmail.com interchangeably for gmail accounts. So I have set my apple id to the googlemail one. Hope this helps someone too.
I had the same issue and got that solved in 10mn with the help of an Apple officer (apple.com website -> click "support" in the top bar menu -> click "apple ID" icon -> click "contact support" on the left)
I then deleted the email address that I wanted to use to create an ID from the list of "alternate emails" associated with the old account and victory! After that the Apple ID creation process went fine.
Yes, I am having the same problem. When I called apple they said that things were "tied up somehow" with another account that has a do different birthday than me. Uuuuuhh? So that means someone else can log in?... I have a feeling there is a big vulnerability with the three login options, just like with the current and past password retrieval. Apple had only suggested that I delete my current set up on my serviced and make a new ID and email.
I Just got a new email and made a new Apple ID account For now. I was hoping the email would work itself out. I assumed If I could make sure everything was verified, not associated with another account, and try to get rid of the alternate id and second email option also used to sign in (seen in Apple ID management) that could possibly be construed or mixed up with something else that it would eventually free up and become "available" again. Unfortunately im still waiting In hopes in just needs to recognize the email isn't associated with anything.
