Hope you all had a fun and safe weekend! Here are some tips to get you to April!


Campus Events
Bucknell Bingo! To kick off April (Fitness Month), everyone on campus receive a Bucknell Bingo card from his/her RA. Complete one row or column to earn one chance to win awesome prizes, including a Wii Fit (gaming system included)!! Completing multiple rows/columns earns you more chances to win!! If you complete the entire card, you will be entered in a raffle to win an iPod shuffle or a plush Bison from the bookstore! Get your fit on!

Spring Thaw Out is coming on April 6th from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and April 7th from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Interested students (individuals and groups) can find out more information and sign up at: www.bucknell.edu/x4688.xml

Community Garden! The Office of Civic Engagement, in conjunction with the Lewisburg Borough, has created the Lewisburg Community Garden located between the Street of Shops and St. Anthony Street. Lifeguarding Class! The American Red Cross lifeguarding course will be offered at Bucknell University on the following dates: April 21, April 22, May 5 & May 6. Class runs from 9am-5pm daily. Attendance is required at all sessions. All participants must be 15 years old on or before May 6th. Cost for Bucknell students: $100. Cost for all other individuals: $150. Registration & payment (cash or check only, payable to Bucknell University) must be done at the KLARC membership office which is located in Gerhard Fieldhouse (8:30am-1:00pm or 2:30-4:30 Monday through Friday). The deadline for registration is Thursday, April 12th. In order to take the class all participants must successfully complete all portions of the prerequisite swim tests. This testing will be done at Kinney Natatorium at 7pm on Thursday, April 19th. All participants must attend this session. Fueling Your Healthy Body
Chocolate-Drizzled Trail Mix! Try this easy-to-make, yummy, protein-packed snack when you're on the go! 
Ingredients: 3 cups nuts of your choice (ex: peanuts, almonds, pecans), 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, 1/2 cup coconut flakes, 1 cup raisins, 1/2 cup dried cranberries or cherries, 1 cup chocolate chips
Directions: Mix together everything except the chocolate chips. Spread onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave. Pour melted chocolate over the nut/fruit mixture in ribbons. Let the chocolate cool, then break the mix into pieces and enjoy!


Wellness Tip
Be careful with those artificial sweeteners! Nutrasweet and Equal contain aspartame, an ingredient that can lead to headaches and even memory loss. If you think artificial sweeteners are aiding your weight loss efforts, think again. Aspartame actually increases cravings of sugar and carbohydrates. You are essentially tricking your brain and then depriving it of the sugar it craves. Watch out for diet sodas and many sugar free options. Instead, check for healthier sweeteners, such as Stevia, Xylitol, and raw honey.
