Wellness Tip
You can help! If you think that someone you know may have an eating disorder or disordered eating, talk to your friend privately and ask what's going on. Ask how you can help, and get them in touch with available resources, such as a Resident Assistant, Program Assistant, or Assistant Director. Know your limits for supporting your friend; you are not responsible for their choices but you can assist by getting them in touch with trained professionals who have specialized tools to help :) (The Nemours Foundation, About Eating Disorders, 1995-2012.)
Defining Wellness
Disordered Eating: Any abnormal eating pattern, ranging from less extreme to extreme behaviors. Disordered eating includes a collection of interrelated eating habits; weight management practices; attitudes about food, weight and body shape; and physiological imbalances. Disordered eating includes classic eating disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder) as well as eating patterns of lesser severity. (Body Image and Disordered Eating, pg 7-2, 2000).
Dorm Room Workout
I'm Sexy And I Know It: 30 push ups, 30 plank hold, 3 rounds for time. Look at all you did! Feel that awesome body work for you! :-D
Have a healthy week!
