I'm not sure how well it will work, but it's out here now. If it doesn't accomplish what is needed, it can be abandoned.
I can add users directly, if they have a gmail address. ZM: your address was accepted for direct addition, but I'm having to send an invite to Omachuck - I don't know why the difference. I don't have access to the addresses from the old mailing list, so I'm unable to invite everybody as yet.
I'll manage the group until some other fool volunteers, or until I just can't do it any more, but I'm making ZM and Omachuck (when/if he accepts the invitation) co-owners of the list, so that they can implement any needed changes directly.
The group is set up so that anybody can search for it, and anybody can
ask for membership, but acceptance is
not automatic; and only actual group members can post. Posting is accomplished by sending an email to the group email address:
swarm-...@googlegroups.com
That's all I can think of to say right now.
