Squadron Command

Once more, with feeling this time...
A long time ago I wrote a story The First Command that explained the origin of the Confederacy Navy, and went a long way toward explaining how the CAP and Concubine system got started. It left some holes, though.
That was supposed to have been taken care of by its companion story, which has been named variously as Squadron Command and Patrol Commander, I never liked either name and I'll listen to suggestions on THAT. That never got finished because we had some questions we never could resolve.
It's been ten years, though. I've tried to give it a non-crappy ending. Can the current crop of Swarm Cycle writers read it and try to figure out what it was that we weren't happy with? I don't remember any more. It really should get published so it can be pointed at as canon and I can clear it off my desk.
