Group feature: display name

For those who may not know, as a member of this Google group, you can change your name as displayed on posts. Email addresses are a reasonable identifier to computer systems, but most people would rather be known as, or converse with, "Joe" or "Sally" or "Mac" than with some...@adomain.tld.

If this desire describes you, be informed that once you are logged in, you can click on "My membership settings" (near the bottom left of the page), and you will be presented with a dialog that a) lets you change your display name, and b) lets you specify how you want to receive mail from the group.

I should also mention that using a display name that is not your email address helps prevent accidental exposure of your email address to non-members!
