Anne (Tori) -
I've been away, dealing with health issues. Apparently in this group I have a lot of company on that score. Gettin' old ain't for sissies! Anyway I found 'Lumpy Lisa' on SOL, but was stopped by the paywall. So I downloaded what you've posted here.
You have captured my interest. I would observe that cats do own their people. They also really are queens (or kings) of all they survey.
I want to see where you take Lisa and her Not-Lisa.
I do hope you don't abandon it to the dredded yellow "Incomplete and Inactive" status.
No suggestions, but a couple of ideas for developing the story that lead in conflicting directions.
If you are committed to making it a horror story, I suppose you could have Lisa eventually take the plunge of Lovers Leap. Maybe have her saved by the Traveler after she hits the water, and brought into his new starship as some sort of captive/pet/experimental subject. Ten you could let your imagination run wild, having the body-snatcher visit all manner of horrors upno Lisa, while forcing her continued existence.
A nicer, IMHO, development would be to have them continue and develop the slight communication they have experienced so far. That would be in keeping with the Travellers repeated intentions to leave benefits for Lisa to compensated for using her. They might develop a mutual respect, perhaps even affection in some way. Stockholm Syndrome could come into play. Lisa could eventually provide some essential help in some way towards successfully building a new starship. They might part friends, or they might sail off into the Galaxy together as a voluntary team for further adventures in future stories.
Another path could be to allow Miss Boots to escape and successfully dispose of the Traveler. That would probably require some sort of gross and horrible end to Lisa as well.
With all the creative and imaginative power in this group, I expect there will be some other, better resolution than anything I can think of. But there is my two cents. Please do keep me posted.
