这周末有两个集智公开活动，赶一块了，欢迎大家参加。

1、超越统计物理的统计力学

时间： 10月25日 周六 15:00-17:00

地点： 学清路768创意产业园，B座东门头，蕴味咖啡********餐厅

统计物理是现代物理学的重要分支，它已被用来解决由大量粒子组成的体系的物理问题。然而，进来，人们发现统计物理中的一些重要工具，如自旋玻璃理论和消息传播算法可以用来解决更多的复杂系统问题。本讲座将主要介绍这些方法在计算系统、信息论和计算机科学中的应用：如组合优化问题，压缩感知和网络聚类。

Statistical mechanics has been developed for dealing with physical problems with large number of elements.
Some of its tools, e.g. spin glass theory and message passing algorithms, are quite powerful in solving problems in the complex systems with a large system size. In this talk I will introduce several applications of statistical mechanics in the disciplinary area between statistical physics, applied mathematics, information theory and computer science. These applications include combinatorial optimization, compressed sensing and network clustering problems.

主讲人介绍：

张潘，兰州大学和中科院理论物理所联合培养博士，09年毕业，专业理论物理。现在Santa Fe Institute做博后，科研方向为统计物理在复杂系统中的应用。目前关心的学术问题包括谱聚类 (Spectral Clustering) 和网络中的社区结构探测问题 (Community detection)。

2、认识汉字叔叔

 

时间：2014年10月26日下午2点30-5点

地点：北京  海淀区  学清路768创意产业园，B座东门头，蕴味咖啡餐厅

他是谁？他是理查德·西尔斯（Richard Sears），美国人，“汉字与词源”网站的创办者。他用了20年时间整理甲骨文、金文、小篆等字形并放到网上，输入汉字就可查看字形。他的事迹感动了中国网友，把他被称为“汉字叔叔”。

集智俱乐部这次将邀请来汉字叔叔，要他和大家一起来座谈，关于他的网站，关于他自己的故事。
