SCRIPT 2014 

The Rotary International has always been a worldwide champion of causes that affect society at large. It is therefore only natural that Rotary Club of Cochin Metropolis organise a Short Film Festival showcasing socially relevant global issues. The Festivals held in 2011, 2012 and 2013 were grand success stories. Inspired by this success and encouraging participation from Film Makers, enthusiasts, sponsors and well wishers, the Rotary Club of Cochin Metropolis now present to you the fourth edition of SCRIPT (Social & Corporate Responsibility International Promotional Theatre).

SCRIPT seeks to recognize outstanding short films that deal with globally relevant social issues, thereby drawing world attention to these issues, which is promoted through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities gaining momentum in India. SCRIPT is an annual competition of short films open to film makers from across the globe. Over the last three years, this has created awareness among the general public about social issues and persuade them to join cause in combating them. Such a film festival that deals with socially relevant global issues is unique in Rotary fraternity in India and worldwide. This uniqueness is more so because this project encompasses Rotary International’s all five designated avenues of services.

SCRIPT 2014 grand jury is headed by renowned film personality, script writer, director Mr. Shayma Prasad. Other Jury members are

·        Sanjeev Sivan – Film maker, Director

·        Dr. Anjali Monterio - Professor and Dean, School of Media and Cultural Studies, TISS Mumbai

·     K.P. Jayasankar - Professor, and Chair, Centre for Critical Media Praxis at the School of Media and Cultural Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.

·        Jose Dominic - Managing Director and CEO of CGH Earth.

Ms. Revathy will be the chief guest during the award function.

The screening schedule at IMA Fidelity Theater for Feb 14th & Feb 15th 2014 is attached herewith (entry is free). These short listed films were selected by the preliminary jury from 371 films received from world over. Looking forward to seeing you with your friends/family for the screening.
