Here's the developer's reply.  I am separately circulating a draft response from me.

Subject: Re: RATS!!! Residents of 1700 block of Swann St ask developer for
removal of debris on 1722 Swann St lot and regular exterminator site visits

Hi Anne,

Per your email dated June 8, 2025, regarding concerns about rodent activity at our vacant lot at 1722 Swann Street NW, I responded the next day on June 9th to acknowledge your concerns and confirm that we would take appropriate steps to address the situation.

On June 17th, we had the property professionally serviced for pest control, including the installation of two bait stations. We have also enrolled the lot in a quarterly pest management program to ensure ongoing oversight. Please see attached invoice.

I’ll be discussing with our team whether it’s feasible to remove or adjust the material currently on-site to further minimize any potential attraction to pests.

That said, it’s important to note that rodent activity is a widespread challenge across the District, particularly in older and denser neighborhoods. While we remain committed to being responsible property owners and doing our part, the presence of rodents in the area cannot be attributed to any single property.

We appreciate your continued communication and will keep you updated on any further actions we take.

Thanks

- Abrar
